Susan Braham: Yoga


Susan Braham Yoga Susan teaches private and small group yoga classes in Brooklyn (Cobble Hill), Manhattan (Union Square), and onsite in homes and offices. She also coordinates and supervises a roster of excellent teachers who are available for additional on-site classes.

Susan teaches a Vinyasa-style Hatha Yoga class. She enjoys teaching at all levels, from beginning to advanced students. She focuses on an organized, direct, healthy use of the body, guiding students to focus their mind on their physical experience. The goal of this approach is to join the body and the mind to the asana, or posture.

Susan has taught yoga for 12 years in many settings: yoga studio, private home, dance festival, college dance department, and an aikido dojo. Her major influences have been Jivamukti Yoga, Om Yoga, Kundalini, Shambhala meditation, and the Alexander Technique. She is certified in Prana Yoga throught the Open Center in New York City.

Her students have included dancers, fitness trainers, teachers, professionals, seniors, mothers, and individuals with MS and chronic pain. She also taught modern dance for five years before becoming a yoga teacher.

Susan draws on her passion for movement and assisting others in their movement to inspire her teaching. Her style of Hatha Yoga focuses on alignment, mindfulness, breath and nurturing growth. She combines her professional dance career with 12 year's teaching experience. She is known for her clarity, compassion and understanding.
